Huge identity theft scheme by illegals impacting Americans across the country

Following a recent workplace raid at a meatpacking plant in Omaha, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has uncovered a massive identity theft scheme led by illegal immigrants. Approximately 70 illegal aliens working at the plant were found to be using stolen Social Security numbers and identities to obtain employment authorization, wages, and benefits at the expense of over 100 victims. The victims have suffered devastating financial, emotional, and legal consequences as a result of the identity theft.

The workplace raid at Glenn Valley Foods in Omaha on June 10 resulted in the arrest of over 70 illegal immigrants. This discovery has raised concerns about the potential ties to organized criminal networks. While the arrests have sparked protests in the community and nationwide, ICE has emphasized that the individuals involved in the identity theft scheme were not innocent, hardworking members of society as some have suggested.

An ICE representative stated that the ongoing investigation has revealed that the illegal immigrants apprehended at Glenn Valley Foods may have used organized criminal networks to carry out the crime. The exact number of individuals impacted by the scheme is still unknown, but several examples have been highlighted to illustrate the severity of the situation.

One victim, a disabled person in Texas, struggled to receive Social Security disability payments because an illegal alien was fraudulently using their identity to work at the plant. In Colorado, another victim received a notice from the IRS to repay over $5,000 after their income was falsely increased due to identity theft. A nursing student in Missouri lost tuition assistance because their income was fraudulently reported as too high. Additionally, a California resident has spent nearly 15 years working to regain their identity and fix the financial damage caused by the illegal immigrants at Glenn Valley Foods.

Mark Zito, special agent in charge of Homeland Security Investigations Kansas City, condemned the criminals who stole identities, stating that they have caused immeasurable financial and emotional hardship for innocent Americans. The individuals detained may face additional federal charges, including fraud, assaulting a federal officer, resisting arrest, illegal reentry, and misuse of social security numbers.

The impact of this identity theft scheme extends beyond financial loss, as victims are being denied healthcare and educational opportunities. The investigation into the illegal immigrants involved in the scheme continues, highlighting the need for stricter enforcement measures to combat identity theft and protect the rights of American citizens.
