RCMP Arrests Eight People in Quebec and Ontario for Human Smuggling Ring
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) made a significant breakthrough on Thursday morning with the arrest of eight individuals in Quebec and Ontario. One of the homes in Montreal is suspected to have been used as a “stash house” where migrants were concealed before being smuggled into the United States. Pillarova stated that the suspects will be remanded in custody and may potentially face charges related to human smuggling. Additionally, they could also be subject to deportation from Canada.
The RCMP revealed that the smuggling network utilized social media platforms such as Instagram and WhatsApp to advertise its illegal crossing services. This highlights the evolving tactics employed by criminal organizations to facilitate human smuggling activities.
