Hungarian official says only President Trump can end Ukraine-Russia war

Despite significant financial support and weapon deliveries to Ukraine, Szijjártó points out that the battlefield reality shows the advancement of the Russian forces. He believes that Trump’s credibility with both the Ukrainians and Russians sets him apart from other leaders who have lost their standing by openly siding with Ukraine.
The Hungarian official also criticizes European leaders for treating the conflict between Russia and Ukraine as their own, instead of acknowledging the reality of the situation on the ground. Recently, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed willingness to accept either a fast-track to NATO membership or nuclear weapons as a means to end the war. However, Trump’s envoy for Russia and Ukraine, retired Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg, doubts the likelihood of Zelenskyy’s demands being met, particularly regarding the return of nuclear weapons.
Trump has called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to negotiate a deal with Zelenskyy to end the conflict, highlighting the importance of Trump’s involvement in the peace process. Kellogg describes Trump and Putin’s relationship as transactional, suggesting that Trump is the key figure who can bring the conflict to a resolution.
