ICE arrests illegal immigrant with 49 prior criminal arrests in operation

ICE officials have recently made significant strides in targeting illegal immigrants with extensive criminal backgrounds in the United States. One particularly alarming case involved Miguel Barrera-Corona, a Mexican national residing in California who was found to have an astonishing 49 prior criminal arrests.
Barrera-Corona’s rap sheet includes charges such as burglary, vehicle theft, assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats, DUI, firearm offenses, shoplifting, trespassing, property damage, petty theft, and vandalism. The Trump administration has attributed Barrera-Corona’s ability to continue committing crimes to sanctuary state policies that allowed him to evade law enforcement.
In a recent nationwide sweep, ICE also apprehended other illegal immigrants with serious criminal histories, including convicted pedophiles, drug dealers, and human traffickers. One individual, Carlos Guzman-Santiago, was convicted of a second-degree forcible sex offense, while Juan Carlos Jimenez, a Dominican national, had a sexual assault conviction involving a relative.
Additionally, Carlos Sipriano Moreno-Pineda from Honduras was convicted of abusing a spouse or cohabitant, and Glenda Molina-Sorto from El Salvador had convictions for child abuse and drug offenses. The operation also led to the arrest of individuals such as Benigno Carrillo-Hernandez, Mauricio Barrios-Satay, Miguel Perez-Herrera, Jorge Carmona-Martinez, and Karen Hernandez-Medrano.
ICE has reiterated its commitment to enforcing immigration laws and removing criminal illegal aliens to ensure the safety of communities across the nation. The agency continues to work diligently to identify, arrest, and deport individuals with criminal backgrounds, sending a clear message that criminal activity will not be tolerated.
This latest crackdown on illegal immigrants with extensive criminal records highlights the ongoing efforts of ICE to prioritize public safety and uphold the rule of law. The agency’s actions serve as a reminder of the importance of enforcing immigration laws and holding individuals accountable for their criminal actions.
