ICE, DEA arrest criminal illegal aliens on idyllic Massachusetts island

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents recently conducted a joint operation on Nantucket, Massachusetts, in an effort to arrest individuals deemed as “illegal criminal aliens.” The operation took place on Tuesday, with DEA New England division agents assisting ICE and ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Boston in carrying out the arrests on the picturesque summer vacation destination located 30 miles south of Cape Cod.

According to a report by The Nantucket Current, the DEA confirmed the arrest of a man who had previously faced charges of kidnapping and domestic assault and battery, as well as a woman. The suspects’ names and countries of origin were not disclosed by authorities, and Fox News Digital has reached out to the DEA for further details.

In a statement to the media, the acting special agent in charge of the DEA’s New England Field Division mentioned that the agency collaborated with federal partners on immigration enforcement efforts. The U.S. Coast Guard also played a role in the operation, reportedly transporting federal agents to Nantucket and back to the mainland with a suspect in custody.

The Town of Nantucket revealed in a press release that the Nantucket Police Department had been notified by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and DEA about their plans to serve an arrest warrant for a “violent offender” on the island. The local police department’s detective unit assisted federal agents by identifying requested addresses and providing transportation support.

The DEA released photographs of the operation, showing DEA agents on a U.S. Coast Guard vessel and the two suspects in custody. This joint effort is part of ongoing immigration enforcement actions in the area, with ICE having made at least six arrests between Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard in September. These arrests are part of a broader operation targeting illegal immigrant suspects accused of serious crimes in the beach towns frequented by prominent families like the Bidens and Obamas.

One notable arrest in September was that of a 28-year-old Salvadoran illegal immigrant named Bryan Daniel Aldana-Arevalo, who faced charges related to child rape and indecent assault and battery. The collaboration between federal agencies and local law enforcement underscores the commitment to maintaining public safety and upholding the law.
