ICE issues detainer for Guatemalan illegal immigrant charged with child rape

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) made a shocking announcement on Wednesday regarding a criminal illegal immigrant in Massachusetts. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) issued a detainer for Lorenzo Lopez Alcario, a 30-year-old Guatemalan national charged with raping a child with force in a crime that was captured on video.

Alcario’s heinous act of tying up and sexually assaulting a young girl was discovered by her mother, leading to the issuance of the ICE detainer this week. According to DHS, Alcario initially entered the United States illegally before being arrested in 2017 in Arlington, Virginia, for drug possession. Subsequently, he was ordered to be removed from the country and was deported in September 2017.

Despite being deported, Alcario managed to re-enter the United States in June 2022 and was released into the country by the Biden administration, despite his criminal history and prior deportation. Assistant DHS Secretary Tricia McLaughlin expressed disbelief at Alcario’s re-entry and emphasized the importance of the ICE detainer in preventing him from victimizing others in the future.

McLaughlin condemned the Biden administration for allowing Alcario back into the country, stating, “Lorenzo Lopez Alcario is a pedophile illegal alien from Guatemala who should’ve never been in the U.S. in the first place.” She highlighted the detainer as a crucial step in ensuring that Alcario is deported and unable to harm any more American citizens.

ICE’s recent operations in Massachusetts, including Operation Patriot, have led to the arrest of nearly 1,500 individuals, including murderers, rapists, drug traffickers, and child sex predators. Among those arrested, 790 had criminal convictions or charges, while 277 had final removal or deportation orders. These operations have effectively removed dangerous criminals from the streets of Massachusetts cities.

The case of Lorenzo Lopez Alcario serves as a stark reminder of the importance of enforcing immigration laws and preventing criminal illegal immigrants from preying on innocent victims. ICE’s continued efforts to apprehend and remove dangerous individuals from communities are crucial in maintaining public safety.

It is essential to stay informed about these developments and support initiatives aimed at protecting communities from criminal elements. The collaboration between law enforcement agencies and DHS plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of all residents.
