Illegal accused of killing Georgia grandmother faces new disturbing charges

An Atlanta-area grandmother’s brutal murder has shocked the community, as the illegal immigrant accused of the crime now faces additional disturbing charges related to the heinous act. Hector David Sagastume-Rivas, a 21-year-old Honduran illegal alien, was indicted for the murder of Camillia Williams, a 51-year-old mother of five and grandmother.
Sagastume-Rivas, who had been caught and released at the border by the Biden administration in March 2021, had an active deportation order since July 2023 after he ignored a previous deportation order. Cobb County Police reported that Sagastume-Rivas allegedly choked Williams until she was unconscious, then used his full body weight to kill her.
Williams’ body was later found in the bushes of a neighborhood yard in Marietta, a popular Atlanta suburb, drawing chilling parallels to the tragic murder of nursing student Laken Riley, who was also killed by a caught-and-released illegal and left in the woods in Georgia.
The indictment released last Friday revealed that Sagastume-Rivas is facing additional charges of aggravated assault, aggravated sexual battery, rape, and necrophilia in addition to felony and malice murder. The victim’s family disclosed that Williams had been concerned about being followed in the days leading up to her murder, leaving them shocked and devastated by the senseless killing.
Arsene Williams, the victim’s brother, expressed his frustration, stating, “[We] just have problems with people in this country that are murderers, rapists, abusers… we don’t need that over here, we’ve already got enough of that in our own society.”
The Department of Homeland Security, led by Kristi Noem, confirmed that Sagastume-Rivas entered the United States illegally on March 17, 2021, and was arrested by the U.S. Border Patrol. Despite having an active deportation order, he had been paroled into the country by the previous administration and was only arrested by Cobb County Police for capital murder and other crimes in March 2025.
Secretary Noem condemned the Biden administration for enabling the “gruesome attack,” emphasizing that Sagastume-Rivas should never have been in the country in the first place. Noem and President Trump are committed to prioritizing the safety of Americans and ensuring that criminal illegal aliens, including accused murderers, are not roaming free on the streets.
The community remains in mourning over the tragic loss of Camillia Williams, as authorities continue to seek justice for her and her devastated family. This disturbing case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by lax immigration policies and the urgent need for stronger border security measures to protect innocent lives.
