Iran foreign minister vows nuclear enrichment continues with or without US deal

Iran’s foreign minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, made a bold statement on Sunday regarding the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the U.S. on the country’s nuclear program. Araghchi emphasized that regardless of whether a nuclear deal is reached with the U.S., Iran will continue its enrichment activities.

In a post on X, Araghchi highlighted Iran’s commitment to its “peaceful nuclear program” and reiterated that Iran’s stance on its rights as a Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty member is non-negotiable. He expressed concerns about the public statements made by U.S. officials and emphasized the need for a serious conversation to reach a mutually beneficial solution.

Araghchi emphasized that Iran’s mastery of enrichment technology is a significant scientific achievement achieved through great sacrifice. He stated that Iran is open to a deal with the U.S. to ensure that the country will not develop nuclear weapons. However, he made it clear that Iran will continue its enrichment activities with or without a deal in place.

This statement comes in response to President Donald Trump’s announcement that the U.S. has presented Iran with a proposal for a nuclear deal. Trump warned that Iran must act quickly to avoid negative consequences.

U.S. and Iranian officials have engaged in multiple rounds of talks primarily held in Oman to address Iran’s nuclear program. Recent reports from the International Atomic Energy Agency have raised concerns about Iran’s growing stockpile of 60% enriched uranium, indicating that Iran is dangerously close to becoming a threshold nuclear weapons state.

Senator Marco Rubio expressed concerns about Iran’s nuclear capabilities, warning that the country is on the verge of developing nuclear weapons. He emphasized the urgency of the situation and called for immediate action to prevent Iran from weaponizing its enriched uranium.

President Trump also mentioned that the U.S. and Iran have reached tentative agreements on the terms of a nuclear deal. He assured reporters that Iran has agreed not to develop nuclear weapons.

The negotiations between Iran and the U.S. continue to be a topic of international concern, with key stakeholders closely monitoring the developments. The future of Iran’s nuclear program remains uncertain, with both sides working towards a resolution that ensures stability and peace in the region.
