Iran warns Israel and US ‘can’t do a damn thing’ to thwart Tehran nuclear ambitions as tensions escalate

A senior Iranian official has strongly criticized a recent meeting between U.S. and Israeli officials, labeling it as an illegal attempt to hinder Tehran’s nuclear ambitions. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei condemned the meeting, stating that it violated international law and was a futile effort by Washington, D.C., and Tel Aviv to impede Iran’s progress.

Baghaei’s remarks came in response to a meeting between U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem, where they reportedly discussed Iran’s nuclear program. Netanyahu expressed confidence in the collaboration between the U.S. and Israel to thwart Iran’s nuclear ambitions, but Baghaei dismissed this assertion, asserting that threats towards Iran were counterproductive to promoting dialogue.

The Israeli prime minister had previously boasted about weakening Iran’s proxy groups in the Middle East, including Hamas. He emphasized the need to eliminate Hamas as a political and military force, aligning with President Donald Trump’s vision for Gaza. Trump has proposed taking ownership of Gaza and developing it under U.S. auspices, a plan that has sparked controversy and criticism.

The U.S.-Israel meeting also involved the delivery of heavy bombs and munitions to Israel, symbolizing the strong alliance between the two countries. This move reinforced Trump’s commitment to supporting Israel’s defense capabilities, despite concerns raised by analysts and critics.

The escalating tensions surrounding Iran’s nuclear program and Gaza’s future highlight the complex geopolitical dynamics in the Middle East. While the U.S. and Israel assert their determination to address security threats in the region, Iran remains defiant in pursuing its nuclear goals. The conflicting interests and strategies among key players underscore the challenges of achieving lasting peace and stability in the volatile region.

Only through genuine cooperation and understanding can the Middle East move towards a more peaceful and prosperous future.
