Iranian general reacts to Trump threats against Houthi rebels, issues warning

An Iranian general has issued a warning to enemies following President Donald Trump’s announcement of military action against Houthis in Yemen. Gen. Hossein Salami, the leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, stated that Iran would respond decisively and destructively to any threats made against them.
“We warn our enemies that Iran will respond decisively and destructively if they carry out their threats,” Salami said in response to U.S. strikes against the Tehran-backed terrorist group. He emphasized that Iran is not a nation to live in hiding and will openly declare any attacks they carry out.
The U.S. Central Command confirmed that they had launched precision strikes against Iran-backed Houthi targets in Yemen to defend American interests, deter enemies, and restore freedom of navigation. President Trump took to Truth Social to announce the military action, stating that it was necessary to stop the relentless assaults by the Houthis that have cost the U.S. and the world economy billions of dollars.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth declared that the campaign against Houthi targets in Yemen would be unrelenting until the Iran-backed proxies cease their attacks on U.S. assets. The Houthis have claimed that the recent U.S. strikes have resulted in casualties and injuries, and their leader, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, has vowed to respond with missile strikes targeting American warships if the aggression continues.
In response to the threats, U.S. warships have shot down around a dozen Houthi drones since Saturday. The drones were intercepted before posing a serious threat to the U.S. Navy’s Truman Carrier Strike Group. The situation remains tense as both sides escalate their actions in the region.
