Jamie Foxx spotted for the first time since hospitalization

There finally seems to be evidence that Jamie Foxx is on the mend.

In a video published by TMZ, Foxx is reportedly seen cruising down the Chicago River on Sunday afternoon, looking healthy as he smiles and waves to a group of boaters who cheer his appearance.

The Oscar-winning actor later tweeted a plug for his bourbon, writing: “Boat life [fox emoji] Celebrate summer with @brownsugarbbn Stay blessed!”

CNN has reached out to Foxx representatives for comment.

The actor has been recovering since April, when he experienced an undisclosed medical complication, according to his daughter Corinne Foxx. The star was filming in Atlanta at the time.

Further information about the incident has not been provided.

In May, a source with knowledge of the situation told CNN that Foxx was undergoing medical treatment at a rehabilitation center in Chicago.

That same month, his daughter countered reports that her father was not well, posting on social media, “Sad to see the media go wild.”

“My dad has been out of the hospital for weeks to recover,” Corinne Foxx wrote. “He even played pickleball yesterday! Thank you for everyone’s prayers and support! We also have an exciting job announcement next week!”

She later announced that she would be hosting a new music-centric trivia game show titled “We Are Family”, in which non-famous celebrity relatives would “play duets with their hidden famous relative” as the audience tried to guess the identity of the star.

No date has been given for that show’s premiere. Foxx and his daughter have already worked together on the game show ‘Beat Shazam’.

John Boyega, Foxx’s costar in “They Cloned Tyrone,” recently spoke to People at the movie’s premiere and said he finally heard from Foxx after trying to reach him.

“He’s fine,” Boyega said. “And then, you know, we just give him the privacy, and we can’t wait for him to come back.”

Co-producer Datari Turner confirmed what Boyega said.

“He’s doing great. I promise you. It’s doing really, really well,” Turner said.”[Director] Jul [Taylor] spoke to him yesterday. John Boyega spoke to him yesterday. He is really in good shape and cheerful. And he comes back on the screen. Soon he will return to work.”

While Foxx hasn’t been seen in public since his medical incident, a few posts have been posted on his verified social media, including one thanking his supporters for their well wishes.
