Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan Endorses Vivek Ramaswamy for Ohio Governor
In an exclusive report by Fox News Digital, Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan has officially endorsed Vivek Ramaswamy for Ohio governor. Ramaswamy, a multimillionaire biotech entrepreneur and former presidential candidate, announced his bid for governor of Ohio in February. Jordan, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee representing Ohio’s fourth congressional district, expressed his support for Ramaswamy’s vision for the state’s future.
Jordan praised Ramaswamy, stating, “Vivek Ramaswamy is as smart and hard-working as they come. He is a successful entrepreneur with a clear vision for Ohio’s future that includes lower taxes, more choice in education, better jobs, and stronger families. I’m confident he’ll make our state proud and I am happy to endorse him for governor.”
Ramaswamy, in response to Jordan’s endorsement, expressed his gratitude, saying, “I’m fired up to have Congressman Jim Jordan in my corner. Jim’s a strong defender of American values. He’s spent his career standing up for the people of Ohio, and that’s exactly what I’m going to do as governor. Thanks, Jim, for your endorsement, your trust, and your energy.”
Jordan’s endorsement adds to a growing list of prominent Republicans who have thrown their support behind Ramaswamy. President Donald Trump, Utah Sen. Mike Lee, Florida Sen. Rick Scott, and Tennessee Sen. Marsha Blackburn have all endorsed Ramaswamy. Additionally, Ohio Sen. Bernie Moreno endorsed Ramaswamy last month. Ramaswamy’s close ties to Trump were highlighted, as both Trump and Jordan campaigned for Moreno during his successful bid for the U.S. Senate.
Ramaswamy’s entry into the gubernatorial race followed a brief stint leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) alongside Elon Musk. Despite leaving the administration shortly after Trump took office, Ramaswamy maintained a close relationship with Musk, who has also endorsed his bid for governor of Ohio.
The Republican primary for Ohio governor is shaping up to be highly competitive, with Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, former Morgan County school board member Heather Hill, and Lt. Gov. Jim Tressel all considering bids. On the Democratic side, former Ohio Health Director Amy Acton has already announced her campaign for governor.
As Ohio gears up for the 2026 election, the Republican nominee will be considered the favorite to become the state’s next governor. Ramaswamy, who emerged as a standout contender in the 2024 presidential election before suspending his campaign, remains a strong contender in the gubernatorial race with his unwavering support for Trump’s America First agenda.
