Following a recent FBI raid on his home, former national security advisor John Bolton has strongly criticized President Donald Trump’s Ukraine policy, describing it as riddled with “confusion, haste, and disarray.”

In an op-ed published shortly after federal agents searched his residence and office, Bolton expressed concerns about the lack of coherent strategy in Trump’s negotiations with Ukraine, Russia, and several European countries. He suggested that Trump’s efforts towards a peace deal were on the brink of collapse, along with his aspirations for a Nobel Peace Prize.

Bolton pointed out the rushed nature of the Alaska summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, labeling it as unprecedented in modern history. He criticized Trump’s subsequent policy reversals and contradictory actions, highlighting the chaotic state of diplomacy within the administration.

Bolton also criticized the Pentagon’s blocking of long-range missile systems to Ukraine and the administration’s treatment of allies like India. He concluded that Trump’s recent actions may have pushed the prospects of peace in Ukraine further away.

The former national security advisor even took aim at Trump’s posture towards Putin, drawing parallels to a photo of Nixon’s confrontation with Khrushchev. He questioned Trump’s desire to be associated with a president who resigned in disgrace.

Having served as Trump’s national security advisor previously, Bolton’s relationship with the president soured over time. The FBI raid on his home is reportedly linked to an investigation regarding mishandling of classified documents.
