Josh Allen dazzles in Bills’ win over Lions in high-scoring bout

Josh Allen continued to make his case for the MVP award with an impressive performance on Sunday, leading the Buffalo Bills to a thrilling 48-42 victory over the Detroit Lions on the road. The win improved the Bills’ record to 11-3 on the season, while the Lions fell to 12-2.
Allen, who is currently the frontrunner for the MVP award in Vegas, put on a show against the Lions. He threw for 362 yards on 23-of-34 passing, including two passing touchdowns. But it was his prowess on the ground that really stood out in this game, as he rushed for two more touchdowns on 11 carries for 68 yards.
The Bills got off to a quick start at Ford Field, taking a 14-0 lead with Allen scoring on back-to-back touchdown drives. Despite the Lions’ best efforts to respond, the Bills maintained their lead throughout the game.
On the other side, Lions quarterback Jared Goff had a stellar performance, throwing for 494 yards and five touchdowns on 38-of-59 passing. His favorite target, Amon-Ra St. Brown, had a standout game with 14 catches for 193 yards and a touchdown.
Despite the Lions’ offensive fireworks, the Bills were able to match them score for score. Allen connected with Ray Davis and Khalil Shakir for his passing touchdowns, while running back James Cook and backup Ty Johnson also made significant contributions to the Bills’ offensive effort.
In the end, the Bills’ ability to maintain their lead and respond to the Lions’ scoring drives proved to be the difference in the game. Both teams put on an offensive showcase, but it was Allen and the Bills who came out on top.
For the Lions, Sam LaPorta and Jahmyr Gibbs were standout performers, with LaPorta recording 111 yards on seven catches and Gibbs totaling 83 yards.
Overall, it was a thrilling game that showcased the offensive firepower of both teams. With the win, the Bills solidified their position as a top contender in the AFC, while the Lions will look to bounce back as they head towards the playoffs.
