Kansas babysitter comes face to face with real life ‘monster’ under the bed
A terrifying incident unfolded in a Kansas home when a babysitter encountered a male suspect hiding under a child’s bed. The babysitter was attempting to calm down the child, who claimed there was a “monster” under the bed. To reassure the child, the sitter checked under the bed only to come face-to-face with the suspect.
The Barton County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to the situation and deputies were dispatched to the home just outside of Great Bend around 10:30 p.m. Unfortunately, by the time they arrived, the suspect, identified as 27-year-old Martin Villalobos Junior, had already fled the scene. An altercation occurred between the babysitter and the suspect, resulting in one child being knocked over during the struggle.
Villalobos, a former resident with a protection from abuse order against him to stay away from the property, managed to evade law enforcement initially. However, the following morning, he was apprehended after attempting to flee on foot. He was subsequently arrested and taken to the Barton County Jail.
The charges against Villalobos include aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary, aggravated battery, child endangerment, felony obstruction of a law enforcement officer, and violation of a protection from abuse order. He is currently being held on a $500,000 bond as he awaits further legal proceedings.
