Kayo and Brett Matthews: East Coast Music Hour “On Air”

In celebration of the Junos coming to Halifax, we asked 4 pairs of up-and-coming East Coast artists to collaborate on a cover of an East Coast, Juno-winner. Each pair was then tasked with writing a brand new song based on the themes in that cover. We recorded each pair with an amazing backing band and every Saturday for the next four weeks we’ll premiere these songs on the radio and on our East Coast Music Hour Youtube page @CBCEastCoastMusicHour. The first pair is Kayo (NS) and Brett Matthews (CB) covering two-time, Juno-winner, Rose Cousins. They have completely reimagined her song “Chains” and have written an absolute banger inspired by their cover called DARK KNIGHT.
