Kearney Lake Beach in Halifax reopens to public swimming

HALIFAX, N.S. — Kearney Lake Beach in Halifax has reopened for public swimming.  

Halifax Regional Municipality said previous water tests shuttered the beach due to high bacteria levels, however, follow up tests now show the water is once again safe in accordance with Health Canada. 

The municipality said staff regularly tests the water quality at all supervised and unsupervised municipal beaches during the summer months for monitoring and safety purposes.
