Kelowna to host curling Olympic qualification event in December

Nations Gear Up for Final Qualification Tournament in Kelowna for 2026 Winter Olympic Curling Events
As the excitement builds for the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympic curling events in Milan-Cortina, nations are preparing to compete in a final qualification tournament in Kelowna, B.C. The tournament is set to take place from Dec. 6-19 at the prestigious Kelowna Curling Club.
The stakes are high as the final two places in each event at the Winter Games will be decided during this intense competition. For the men’s and women’s competitions, the National Olympic Committees ranked 9-13 from the results of the 2024 and 2025 world championships, along with the top three NOCs from the pre-qualification event, will battle it out for a chance to secure their spot in the Olympics.
Meanwhile, the mixed doubles qualification process follows a slightly different path. Nations that have qualified for the 2024 and 2025 world championships, but have not yet secured their spot in the Olympics through points or by hosting the Games, are eligible to compete in the qualification tournament.
If there are fewer than 16 mixed doubles teams vying for a spot, the next highest-ranked nation from the official world ranking list as of May 1 will be invited to participate until all 16 spots are filled.
With fierce competition expected and national pride on the line, the Kelowna qualification tournament promises to be a thrilling event for curling enthusiasts and athletes alike. Stay tuned for updates and results as nations battle it out for their chance to shine on the Olympic stage in 2026.
