Kendrick Lamar surprises with new album ‘GNX’

LOS ANGELES –
Kendrick Lamar surprised music fans by dropping a new album just in time for the holidays. The Grammy-winning artist released his 12-track album “GNX,” marking his first album since 2022’s “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers” and his sixth studio album overall. This release comes shortly after his highly publicized rap battle with Drake.
In addition to his new album, Lamar is set to headline the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans in February. This performance is sure to be a highlight for fans of the rap megastar.
Kendrick Lamar, now 37, has enjoyed immense success since his debut album “good kid, m.A.A.d city” in 2012. With 17 Grammy wins under his belt, Lamar made history by being the first non-classical, non-jazz musician to win a Pulitzer Prize for his 2017 album “DAMN.”
This surprise album release comes at the end of a successful year for Lamar. His collaboration with Future and Metro Boomin on the track “Like That” topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for three weeks. Additionally, his song “Not Like Us,” inspired by his feud with Drake, also gained popularity among fans.
