3 men, 1 teen facing multiple charges in Louisiana for riding horses in Walmart

Four individuals are currently facing charges in Louisiana after causing a stir in a small-town Walmart last week. The incident, which occurred on April 8 in Baker, Louisiana, involved three men and a teenage boy riding horses through the store, as captured in a viral video posted on TikTok.

According to local news outlet WBRZ, the video showed the group of riders entering the Walmart, lingering around the self-checkout area for a brief period, and then making their way to the back of the store. One of the riders was even seen filming the escapade on his phone.

Following the incident, the Baker Police Department issued a request for information on the four individuals. Eventually, Brendon Bridgewater, 24; Patrick Derozan, 22; Mason Webb, 18; and a 16-year-old boy turned themselves in to authorities and are now facing misdemeanor charges.

The charges include entering and remaining after forbidden, unlawful post of criminal activity, and disturbing the peace, as reported by The Advocate in Baton Rouge. It is worth noting that in Louisiana, it is illegal to post a video or livestream a crime for the purpose of gaining notoriety or publicity, hence the charge for “unlawful post of criminal activity.”

In a separate video taken by a Walmart employee, one worker can be heard expressing concern, stating, “They ain’t supposed to come in here like that. They’re gonna scare the s–t out of somebody.”

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of respecting public spaces and adhering to the rules and regulations set forth by businesses. While the video may have garnered attention on social media, it ultimately led to legal repercussions for the individuals involved.
