London Knights celebrate 3rd Memorial Cup win

The London Knights have once again emerged victorious as Memorial Cup champions, securing their third title with a decisive 4-1 win over their opponents in Rimouski, Quebec. The team’s stellar performance was highlighted by Easton Cowan, who made history by leading the tournament in scoring for the second consecutive year, a feat not achieved since 1972.
Cowan, who netted an impressive seven goals throughout the series, was rightfully named the Most Valuable Player. The Knights’ previous Memorial Cup victories came in 2005 and 2016, with a near miss in 2024 when they narrowly lost to the Saginaw Spirit by a single point.
As a Toronto Maple Leafs prospect, Cowan now shares the record for most Memorial Cup points in franchise history with Leafs’ right-winger Mitch Marner. The Knights demonstrated their dominance by scoring three goals in the second period of the championship game, firmly solidifying their lead. Both London and Medicine Hat, their opponents in the final, had displayed exceptional prowess in their respective leagues leading up to the Memorial Cup showdown.
Currently boasting 12 NHL draft picks, the Knights are a force to be reckoned with in the world of junior hockey. Their latest triumph cements their status as a powerhouse team with a bright future ahead. Congratulations to the London Knights on their well-deserved victory!
