Louisville shooting: 3 killed in incident outside driver’s license office

Three individuals tragically lost their lives on Friday when they were shot and killed outside a motor vehicle office in Louisville, Kentucky. The incident, described by authorities as a “deliberate act,” occurred at a driver’s license branch located in the 6200 block of Willismore around noon, according to the Louisville Metro Police Department (MPD).
Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement discovered one man deceased in the parking lot. Two women, who had also sustained gunshot wounds, were rushed to a nearby hospital but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries, as stated in a press release by the MPD.
Major Donald Boeckman of the Louisville Metro Police Department assured the public that there was no ongoing threat following the shooting. Despite no suspects being identified at the time, LMPD spokesperson John Bradley emphasized that there was no indication of the violent act extending beyond the incident that transpired.
The suspect or suspects involved in the shooting fled the scene in a vehicle. Authorities did not have a description of the vehicle at the time, and investigations were underway, including a review of surveillance footage to gather more information.
“This was a deliberate act, and investigators are working to determine the exact nature of the shooting,” Bradley stated in a message to Fox News Digital. “A clearer picture will no doubt come into focus for us as the investigation matures.”
Major Boeckman expressed his shock at the tragedy, noting, “It’s absolutely a tragedy and I’m surprised there wasn’t more people injured.”
The incident is currently under investigation, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
