Tragic New Year’s Eve House Fire Claims Life of Man in Shubenacadie, N.S.
A devastating house fire on New Year’s Eve has resulted in the loss of a man’s life in Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia. The incident occurred on Highway 215 in Shubenacadie, with emergency services rushing to the scene following a distress call at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday, as confirmed by RCMP spokesperson Cindy Bayers.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered the residence fully engulfed in flames and severely smoke-damaged. Tragically, a 73-year-old man was pronounced dead at the location. The other two occupants, a 65-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman, were able to escape unharmed.
According to Bayers, there is no suspicion of foul play in relation to the fire. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to determine the cause of the blaze.
In response to the emergency, a section of Highway 215 was temporarily closed to facilitate the arrival of emergency responders, but normal traffic flow has since been restored.
