Man charged after assault with a baseball bat in Dartmouth

A 36-year-old man was charged Friday morning after an incident in Dartmouth involving an assault with a baseball bat.

According to a news release from the Halifax Regional Police, the suspect approached a group of men on Primrose Street in Dartmouth at about 9:40 a.m. on Friday and threatened them. Police said one man was assaulted with a baseball bat.  was arrested and taken into police custody without further struggle.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and was taken to the hospital.

Police say the man is due to appear in court at a later date charged with assault causing bodily harm, and assault with a weapon.
