Man claims he was robbed, assaulted at Lakers home venue

A man attending a Los Angeles Lakers game last year has filed a lawsuit against AEG-Crypto.com Arena, alleging that he was mugged in a restroom inside the arena after being harassed about his diamond watch and chains. Efren Graves attended the Lakers’ game against the Memphis Grizzlies on November 24, 2024, with his daughter where they were seated in courtside seats.

Graves attempted to use a restroom near his seats, but arena staff informed him that it was being used by an unidentified “celebrity.” He then went to an upstairs restroom where he was accosted by three men who began harassing him about his jewelry. The situation escalated when Graves was struck on the head and assaulted as he tried to leave the restroom.

The lawsuit, which includes claims of battery, assault, premises liability, and general negligence, does not specify what items were taken during the robbery. Despite Graves screaming for help, security personnel were reportedly distracted by the game and did not respond promptly.

The incident took place during a game where the Lakers emerged victorious over the Grizzlies with a score of 128-123. Graves’ lawsuit highlights the lack of attention from security and the distressing situation he faced during the game.

Fox News Digital has reached out to AEG for comment on the lawsuit. The case sheds light on the importance of security measures at public events and the need for prompt responses to emergencies. The safety and well-being of attendees should always be a top priority, and incidents like these serve as a reminder of the vigilance required to ensure a secure environment for all.
