A 27-Year-Old Man Arrested After Car Crash on Highway 102 in Nova Scotia

In the early hours of Friday morning, a 27-year-old man who was wanted on provincewide warrants for offences including attempted murder was apprehended following a car crash on Highway 102 near Brookfield, Nova Scotia. The incident unfolded when a pickup truck and SUV collided off a highway exit, prompting a response from Colchester County District RCMP and Truro police.

Prior to the crash, two vehicles had evaded a checkpoint set up by the Truro Police Service. Following the collision, three individuals fled into a wooded area. Truro police managed to apprehend the 27-year-old man, who was sought for various charges in Halifax and Millbrook, including aggravated assault.

Shortly thereafter, a 17-year-old male from Eastern Passage was also taken into custody by the RCMP. The youth was found to be armed and wearing body armour at the time of his arrest. However, the whereabouts of the third male remain unknown.

Upon inspecting the crash scene, Truro police discovered three firearms, two sets of body armour, ammunition, and both vehicles involved in the collision. It is believed that one of the vehicles had been stolen. An investigation into the crash and the firearms is currently underway.

This incident serves as a reminder of the risks involved in fleeing from law enforcement and the potential dangers posed by individuals evading capture.
