Manitoba invites more than 3,000 candidates to request a provincial nomination

Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) Selection Results

Manitoba recently conducted a round of selections for newcomers, inviting thousands of skilled workers and graduates to apply for a provincial nomination through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).

The candidates were invited under various streams of the program, including the International Education Stream, Skilled Worker in Manitoba Pathway, and Skilled Worker Overseas through targeted recruitment initiatives.

MPNP Selection Results

On September 4, 2025, MPNP held Draw #253 and issued a total of 3,347 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to candidates. The invitations were distributed as follows:

Stream Number of LAAs Issued Cut-off Score
Skilled Worker Overseas 15 844
Skilled Worker in Manitoba 1,466 N/A
International Education Stream 1,866 N/A

Selection Criteria

Skilled Worker Overseas

Candidates were selected from both the Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas streams based on their participation in strategic recruitment initiatives conducted by MPNP.

Skilled Worker in Manitoba – Ukraine Citizens Selection

Another draw for the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream was conducted on September 4, focusing on candidates meeting eligibility criteria and hailing from Ukraine.

International Education Stream

Candidates were selected based on their eligibility under the International Education Stream. Out of the total LAAs, 415 were allocated to candidates with valid Express Entry profiles.

Reasons for Non-Selection

MPNP clarifies that candidates who meet or exceed the cut-off score but do not receive an LAA may have issues such as not providing a valid language test number or invitation number in their Expression of Interest.

Strategic Recruitment Initiatives

Strategic recruitment initiatives are employer-led processes that help Manitoba identify and invite candidates with critical skills needed in the province. These initiatives support local employers in filling labor gaps and offer candidates a pathway to permanent residency.

Employers must meet specific requirements, and candidates must demonstrate language proficiency, work experience, education, and other criteria set by MPNP. The program also evaluates the candidate’s ties to other Canadian provinces to ensure a genuine interest in settling in Manitoba.
