How do I qualify for the craftsman in Manitoba Stream?

The Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream (SWM) is based on the specific needs of employers in Manitoba. SWM selects foreign-trained employees with the required skills and nominates them for permanent residency in Canada. The stream prioritizes candidates with a strong attachment to Manitoba, with two paths to immigration in Manitoba.

a) Work Experience Program in Manitoba

For applicants currently working in Manitoba on a temporary work permit, through the Temporary Foreign Workers Program or as international graduates from any province. Candidates do not have to work in high demand professions.

b) Recruitment process for direct employers

For overseas applicants with job openings from approved employers in Manitoba.

How do I qualify for the Skilled Worker Overseas Stream?

The Skilled Worker Overseas Stream (SWO) includes both a dedicated Canada Express Entry Pathway and a direct provincial path.

It targets internationally skilled workers with skills and training in Manitoba’s in-demand occupations. Priority is given to applicants and spouses with close family ties, plus the language skills, education and experience to find a job quickly.

a) Manitoba Express Access Route

For international candidates who are eligible for another MPNP stream, who also meet the Express Entry criteria and have an active Express Entry profile. Candidates need skills, training and experience in one of Manitoba’s in-demand occupations and a strong family connection to the province.
