Manitoba’s Kadriana and Colton Lott repeat as Canadian mixed doubles curling champions

Manitoba’s Lotts Capture Second Consecutive Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Title
Kadriana and Colton Lott of Manitoba have once again emerged victorious as the Canadian mixed doubles curling champions, securing a thrilling 9-8 extra-end win over Nova Scotia’s Powers and Saunders in Summerside, P.E.I.
Hailing from Gimli, Manitoba, the Lotts have etched their names in history as the first pair to clinch back-to-back national mixed doubles titles, following their triumph in the 2024 competition held in Fredericton.
With this latest win, the dynamic duo will proudly represent Canada at the forthcoming 2026 world mixed doubles championship, details of which are yet to be finalized.
The championship final saw an intense battle unfold, with the Lotts seizing an early advantage by scoring three points in the opening end. The two teams traded blows throughout the match, with Nova Scotia managing to level the score on multiple occasions but never quite taking the lead.
‘Unbelievable Feeling’
The tension reached its peak as Manitoba sealed the deal when Powers missed her final shot, leading to a jubilant celebration from the Lotts.
“The feeling of winning a national championship is truly indescribable,” expressed Colton Lott. “It’s an unbelievable sensation, and the opportunity to achieve this feat back-to-back is simply phenomenal. We are eager to showcase our skills at the upcoming world championship.”
Although the Lotts faced a setback at the 2024 mixed doubles world championship in Sweden, where they fell to Estonia in the qualification round, they are determined to make a strong comeback on the international stage next year.
The upcoming 2025 event, set to commence on April 26 in Fredericton, will feature Jocelyn Peterman and Brett Gallant as the representatives of Canada, following their victory at the Canadian mixed doubles curling trials earlier this year.
