Marcus Jordan speeds away from officers before arrest on drug charge in Florida, dashcam video shows

Marcus Jordan, the son of basketball legend Michael Jordan, recently made headlines after he was involved in a high-speed chase with Florida law enforcement officers. The incident, captured on dashcam video, showed Jordan speeding away from deputies in his Lamborghini sports utility vehicle before eventually getting stuck on railroad tracks in the suburb of Maitland.

According to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, officers found Jordan’s vehicle immobile on the tracks, with a commuter train just minutes away. The SUV’s tires were buried in dirt and rock from being spun repeatedly during the chase. Jordan was subsequently arrested on multiple charges, including cocaine possession and resisting an officer without violence.

When approached by officers, Jordan reportedly identified himself as “Marcus Jordan, Michael Jordan’s son,” and claimed he was simply trying to get home after making a wrong turn. However, officials noted his slurred speech and confusion, leading to a search that uncovered a bag of cocaine in his possession.

Following his arrest, Jordan was booked into the Orange County Jail and later released without speaking to reporters. The 34-year-old, who played high school and college basketball before pursuing a career in hospitality management, has largely stayed out of the spotlight except for a brief period when he dated Larsa Pippen, the ex-wife of Scottie Pippen.

This is not the first time Marcus Jordan has had a run-in with the law. In 2012, he pleaded no contest to disorderly conduct and resisting arrest in Nebraska, though a charge of obstructing a police officer was dropped as part of a plea agreement.

As the son of a basketball icon, Marcus Jordan’s actions have drawn attention from the media and fans alike. While he has faced legal challenges in the past, he continues to navigate his own path away from the shadow of his famous father.
