A basketball card signed by Hall of Famers Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant has shattered records, selling for nearly $13 million at auction.
Heritage auctions revealed that there were a total of 82 bids for the rare Upper Deck Logoman collection card from the 2007-08 season. The card eventually fetched an astonishing $12,932,000, surpassing the previous record of $12.6 million set by a TOPPS-smokie card from 1952 featuring Baseball Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle at a heritage auction in 2022.
The winning bid came from a group that included renowned “Shark Tank” investor Kevin O’Leary, as confirmed by the Memorabilia Company.
This unique Jordan-Bryant card is the only one of its kind, boasting certified signatures from both basketball legends, as well as NBA patches taken from their actual game-worn uniforms.
The previous record for a basketball card sale was held by a private transaction involving a Stephen Curry 2009 Panini card, which sold for $5.9 million. The highest price paid at a public auction was just over $3.1 million for a Panini Rookie Card of Luka Doncic from 2018.
