Minnesota Twins come back for 7-5 victory over Toronto Blue Jays

The Minnesota Twins Rally Late to Defeat Toronto Blue Jays
In a thrilling comeback victory, the Minnesota Twins overcame a deficit to defeat the Toronto Blue Jays 7-5 at Rogers Centre on Tuesday night.
The game took an exciting turn in the ninth inning when Mickey Gasper hit his first career home run to tie the game, followed by Matt Wallner’s three-run blast to give the Twins the lead.
Unfortunately for the Blue Jays, this marked the seventh blown save of the season for pitcher Jeff Hoffman, who struggled to close out the game.
Despite a strong performance from George Springer, who hit two solo homers and led the offense with four hits, the Blue Jays couldn’t hold onto their early lead.
Pitcher Chris Bassitt put in a solid effort for Toronto, keeping the Twins off the scoreboard until the sixth inning when Luke Raley hit a two-run homer.
The game remained tense as both teams had scoring opportunities, but it was ultimately the Twins who capitalized on key moments to secure the win.
With this loss, the Blue Jays saw their lead in the American League East Division shrink to four games over the Boston Red Sox, who won their game against the Baltimore Orioles.
Looking ahead, the Blue Jays will turn to left-handed pitcher Eric Lauer to start in their next game, while the Twins have yet to announce their starter.
