Mom of Hunter Biden’s daughter says he was ‘targeted because of who his dad is’

Lunden Roberts, the mother of Hunter Biden’s child, Navy Joan Roberts, is standing behind President Biden’s decision to grant a sweeping pardon for his son. In a statement provided by her publisher, Skyhorse, Roberts expressed her support for Biden’s actions, stating that it is what any loving parent would do. She hopes that Biden will take steps to become a grandparent for Navy Joan and show more love towards their daughter.
Roberts believes that Hunter was unfairly targeted because of his father’s position as president. She emphasized that as a mother, she would do anything for her child and break any barrier for Navy Joan. Despite initial statements that he would not pardon Hunter, President Biden ultimately decided to grant clemency for all offenses committed by his son from 2014 to 2024.
The pardon covers Hunter’s federal gun charges in Delaware and his guilty plea on federal tax charges in California, for which he was set to be sentenced this month. Roberts released a book in August titled “Out of the Shadows: My Life Inside the Wild World of Hunter Biden,” where she details her experiences with Hunter during his addiction to crack cocaine. She recounts meeting Hunter in Washington, D.C., and giving birth to their daughter, Navy, in August 2018.
Hunter, who was already a father to three daughters with his ex-wife, Kathleen Buhle, at the time, had grown distant from Roberts after she became pregnant. Despite his involvement with Beau Biden’s widow and subsequent marriage to Melissa Cohen Biden, Roberts fought for Hunter to acknowledge Navy as his daughter. President Biden only recognized Navy as his grandchild in July 2023.
A court-ordered paternity test in 2020 confirmed Hunter as Navy’s father, and Roberts agreed to reduced child support payments in exchange for Hunter building a relationship with their daughter. Hunter has since spoken with Navy over Zoom, showing a willingness to be present in her life.
