The upbeat 50-second song, titled “Moodeng Moodeng,\” is now available in Thai, English, Chinese, and Japanese versions. With simple yet catchy lyrics like “Moo Deng Moo Deng, boing boing boing/ Mommy mommy, play with me,” the song is sure to bring a smile to your face. The accompanying music video showcases short clips of the baby hippo bouncing around, playing with her keeper, and spending time with her mom Jona.

This delightful song was produced and written by renowned Thai composer Mueanphet Ammara and released by GMM Music, one of Thailand’s largest music companies.

Moo Deng, whose name translates to “bouncy pork” in Thai, quickly became a global sensation shortly after her debut on Facebook by the Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Thailand’s Chon Buri province. Fans adore her energetic personality, as she loves to bounce around, earning her the nickname “Moo Deng.” Her playful antics have captured the hearts of social media users worldwide, leading to the creation of numerous memes and even the use of her image by sports teams and businesses.

At just four months old, Moo Deng has become a major attraction at the zoo, drawing thousands of visitors daily. The zoo has capitalized on her popularity by selling merchandise such as clothes and bedding featuring the adorable pygmy hippo.

The zoo’s director, Narongwit Chodchoi, has stated that the increased revenue generated by Moo Deng will support the zoo’s breeding programs for endangered species like the pygmy hippopotamus. This species, native to West Africa, is facing threats from poaching and habitat loss, with only 2,000-3,000 individuals remaining in the wild.

Situated on 800 hectares of land and home to over 2,000 animals, the Khao Kheow Open Zoo is committed to conservation efforts and raising awareness about endangered species.
