More than 20 days into phenomenon, Pentagon still has no answers about origins of mysterious NJ drones

More than three weeks have passed since the mysterious drones started appearing in the New Jersey night sky, leaving the public grasping for answers. Despite ongoing speculation and theories, no clear insight has been offered on the origin or purpose of these unmanned aerial vehicles.

Rep. Jeff Van Drew, R-N.J., raised eyebrows when he suggested that the swarm of drones could be linked to an Iranian “mother ship.” However, the Pentagon swiftly dismissed this idea, stating that there is no Iranian ship off the coast of the United States launching drones towards the country. Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh emphasized that there is no evidence to suggest that the drones are the work of a foreign adversary.

Van Drew, in response to the Pentagon’s statement, expressed his frustration on Fox News, accusing U.S. agencies of not being transparent with the American public. He believes that the lack of information provided to the public is a sign of disrespect and underestimation of their intelligence.

While the Pentagon maintains that the drones are not foreign in origin, the FBI has admitted its concerns about the limited information available on the drones. FBI assistant director Robert Wheeler told Congress that there is still much unknown about the drones, raising concerns about potential risks to the American population.

The sightings of these drones near sensitive sites, including a military research facility, have raised alarm bells among officials and the public. Photos capturing these large drones hovering at high altitudes in New Jersey have prompted questions about their capabilities and intentions.

Doug Birkey, executive director of the Mitchell Institute for Aerospace Studies, believes that the drones’ sophistication, size, and behaviors suggest a high potential of being from an adversary source. He raised concerns about the outdated detection systems and lack of understanding in tracking these drones, highlighting the need for improved air defense strategies.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy has assured the public that the drones do not pose a threat to public safety. However, the FBI is actively assisting local law enforcement in investigating the matter and has called on the public for assistance through its tip line.

The lack of clarity surrounding the drones’ origin and purpose has left many puzzled and concerned. With no definitive answers in sight, speculation continues to swirl about the motives behind these mysterious drone sightings. The ongoing mystery underscores the need for enhanced surveillance and response measures to address potential security threats posed by such unidentified aerial vehicles.
