Mother of injured hostage in Gaza directs plea for help to ‘every mother in this world’

The mother of Alon Ohel, a hostage taken from the Nova Music Festival on October 7, 2023, is making a heartfelt plea for her son’s release as negotiations for a second phase of the ceasefire have yet to be reached. Idit Ohel spoke to Fox News Digital, expressing the unbearable pain of not knowing her son’s well-being while he remains in Hamas captivity.

Alon, along with 58 others, has been a hostage for 518 days since the 2023 Hamas attacks on Israel. He was injured during the attack, sustaining shrapnel in his right eye, which has not been properly treated, putting him at risk of blindness in both eyes. Footage shared with Fox News Digital shows the terrifying conditions Alon and other hostages endured during the attack and subsequent abduction.

Despite the release of three hostages who were held with Alon, he remains in captivity, isolated from the others. Idit, who believes President Donald Trump can help secure her son’s release, has not received any communication from the Trump administration or Netanyahu’s office. She traveled to Washington D.C. to advocate for her son, emphasizing the urgency of his return.

The Trump administration has been in direct negotiations with Hamas to secure the release of American hostages, including Edan Alexander. However, there are still 25 hostages, including Alon, who are believed to be alive and in captivity. Reports of frustration from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu highlight the challenges of negotiating with the terrorist organization for a ceasefire and hostage release.

In a message to her son, Idit reassured him that he is not forgotten, and that she, along with his family, is doing everything possible to bring him home. The fight for Alon’s release continues as his mother pleads for his safe return. The unwavering determination to secure his freedom remains a top priority for all those involved in the negotiations.
