Mother whose daughter illegal immigrant murdered, raped appears at White House as Dems travel to El Salvador

The mother of a Maryland woman speaks out at the White House after her daughter’s murderer is convicted

Patty Morin, the mother of a Maryland woman who was raped and murdered by an illegal immigrant from El Salvador in 2023, made a powerful appearance at the White House on Wednesday. This comes after a jury convicted her daughter’s murderer just days ago.

Meanwhile, Democratic Sen. Chris Van Hollen of Maryland traveled to El Salvador on Wednesday to investigate the deportation of a Maryland resident, Abrego Garcia, by the Trump administration’s Justice Department. The administration alleges that Garcia has connections to the MS-13 gang.

“To have a senator from Maryland who didn’t even acknowledge, or barely acknowledge, my daughter and the brutal death that she endured, leaving her five children without a mother…so that he can use my taxpayer money to fly to El Salvador to bring back someone that’s not even an American citizen?” Morin expressed her frustration to reporters at the White House. “Why does that person have more rights than I do, or my daughter or my grandchildren? I don’t understand this.”

Van Hollen’s office has not yet responded to requests for comment from Fox News Digital.

This is a developing story. Stay tuned for updates.
