N.S. man used SnapChat to lure youth into trading vape products for sexual acts: RCMP
MIDDLE SACKVILLE, N.S. — A 27-year-old Middle Sackville man is accused of using SnapChat to trade vape products for sexual acts from underage Halifax area girls.
An investigation precipitated by two complaints to the Halifax District RCMP on Sept. 28 led police to discover the man was using no less than four usernames to communicate with girls on the social media platform.
Further investigation revealed he allegedly drove a 2019 blue Ford Mustang convertible, bearing a temporary permit, to attend meetings with the two complainants, one of whom alleges she was driven somewhere in town and sexually assaulted.
Jehad Abdelghani turned himself in Nov. 16 and has been charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, making sexually explicit materials available to a child, and two counts of child luring.
He was released from custody to appear in Dartmouth provincial court on Jan. 10. The RCMP warned that “any form of vigilante activity or other unreasonable conduct against Abdelghani will not be tolerated.”
