NASCAR: Ty Gibbs threatens Tyler Reddick after getting spun out

Ty Gibbs expressed his dissatisfaction with Tyler Reddick during the NASCAR Cup Series’ Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway on Sunday afternoon. Denny Hamlin emerged victorious in the race after finishing fifth at Homestead last week.
The incident between Gibbs and Reddick occurred on Lap 298. Gibbs drifted wide in a corner, and Reddick attempted to pass him from underneath. However, as Gibbs corrected his line, Reddick made contact with the back of his car, causing Gibbs to spin out.
During the race broadcast, Gibbs’ frustration was evident as he radioed his team, expressing his displeasure with the situation. He was heard saying, “Just free this up, please. Keep me away from that little guy after the race too,” referring to Reddick.
Following the race, Gibbs and Reddick engaged in a conversation, but it appeared that they were able to resolve the issue amicably.
Hamlin secured his first victory of the 2025 season at Martinsville Speedway. He led an impressive 274 of the 400 laps and earned 53 points for his performance. Hamlin finished ninth in Stage 1 and first in Stage 2, ultimately crossing the finish line 4.6 seconds ahead of second-place finisher Christopher Bell.
The win marked the first time in a decade that Hamlin had triumphed at Martinsville Speedway. As he exited his car, he proudly displayed a flag that read “11 against the world.”
Bubba Wallace, Chase Elliott, and Kyle Larson rounded out the top five finishers, with Ross Chastain, Ryan Preece, Joey Logano, Chase Briscoe, and Todd Gilliland completing the top 10.
Gibbs ultimately finished in 13th place, with Reddick close behind in 14th.
In a post-race interview with FOX Sports, Hamlin reflected on his victory, highlighting the challenges he had faced at Martinsville in recent years. He expressed relief at finally achieving success at the track and praised his team for their hard work and dedication.
