Nearly 1,500 arrested in deep blue state amid ICE’s ‘Operation Patriot’

Operation Patriot, the largest ICE operation in history, has successfully led to the arrest of nearly 1,500 illegal aliens in the sanctuary city-heavy state of Massachusetts. The operation targeted criminals, including murderers, rapists, drug traffickers, and child sex predators who were freely roaming the streets before being apprehended.
The operation, which concluded on Saturday, involved ICE teams from other states in the Northeast, as well as authorities from the FBI, DEA, and ATF. The operation ran throughout May and resulted in 790 arrests of individuals with criminal convictions or charges, and 277 with final removal or deportation orders. This massive operation was a response to the lack of cooperation from Massachusetts sanctuary jurisdictions, which refused to assist ICE in apprehending these dangerous criminals.
During the operation, Fox News was embedded with ICE Boston and witnessed the arrest of several criminals, including a murderer, two child rapists, a fentanyl trafficker, an adult rapist, and a child sexual assaulter, all within a few hours. The operation was significantly more challenging than previous ones, as ICE received no local assistance from sanctuary jurisdictions in Massachusetts.
Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, a Democrat, expressed outrage over the arrests, demanding answers from ICE after an 18-year-old illegal immigrant was taken into custody. Healey criticized the Trump administration for creating fear in communities and making them less safe. However, acting ICE Director Todd Lyons defended the operation, stating that if sanctuary cities cooperated with ICE, these violent criminal aliens could be safely removed from the streets.
The resistance from Massachusetts leaders has sparked criticism from former shelter director Jon Fetherston, who believes that the state’s policies are creating a climate of lawlessness. Healey’s refusal to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement operations is seen as reckless and endangering the safety of all residents.
Overall, Operation Patriot has demonstrated ICE’s commitment to keeping communities safe from dangerous criminals and sex offenders. Despite the backlash from sanctuary jurisdictions and state leaders, ICE will continue to enforce immigration laws and protect the public from violent offenders.
