Need to pay for parking at the Halifax airport? One option will end soon

Changes Coming to Parking Payment Options at Halifax Stanfield International Airport

Starting next week, MACPASS Plus will no longer be an option to pay for parking at Halifax Stanfield International Airport. This decision is being made in preparation for the upcoming removal of tolls from the bridges spanning Halifax harbour.

Leah Batstone, a spokesperson for the airport authority, stated that this change just made sense. Drivers will now need to take a ticket when entering the parking facilities and utilize other payment options available in the terminal building and parkade.

The transition to this new system will begin on Monday. However, drivers who parked using MACPASS Plus prior to March 3 will still be able to exit with MACPASS Plus and will be charged as usual.

It is advised that travellers familiarize themselves with the alternative payment methods before coming to the airport to avoid any inconvenience.

Earlier this month, the province announced the removal of tolls from the harbour bridges starting April 1. Halifax Harbour Bridges spokesperson, Steve Proctor, mentioned that toll booths will still be present in April, but dedicated MACPASS and cash-only lanes will be redesigned to allow traffic to flow freely.
