Neptune Theatre announces season lineup: Frozen is the new holiday musical
HALIFAX, N.S. — With the city shovelling, it was the perfect day to announce that Frozen will be taking the Neptune stage later this year.
Jeremy Webb, Neptune’s artistic director, announced the lineup for the Halifax theatre’s 62nd season during an online event Wednesday.
One of the biggest announcements was that Disney’s Frozen will be this year’s holiday musical from Nov. 7- Jan. 5, 2025.
There will be 11 productions in the new season — four musicals (or musical events), four comedies, four dramas, six Canadian plays and one world premiere.
In a news release, Webb said he wanted to feature the elements that make live performance art a unique experience.
“Our season theme is Experience the Extraordinary, which is all about those exciting moments of wonder and awe that are unforgettable,” said Webb. “The season delivers everything that we seek from live theatre — laughter, tears, suspense and lots of music.”
Here is what’s in store for Neptune’s new season:
Dear Rita – July 30 – Aug. 25
