Netflix opens a restaurant
Streaming giant Netflix is bringing its content “from screen to table” with a new pop-up restaurant opening June 30 in Los Angeles.
the eatery, Netflix bite, will feature creations from chefs featured in shows available on the streaming service, including “Chef’s Table,” “Iron Chef,” “Is It Cake?” and “Drinkmasters.”
Michelin-starred chefs Dominque Crenn and Curtis Stone are among the participating chefs. East-West fusion master Ming Tsai and baker Nadiya Hussain are also in the lineup for the temporary pop-up.
“Communicating my love of food to people all over the world is one of the greatest thrills of my life, but this screen-to-table experience of giving fans a taste of what’s happening on camera is just amazing,” said Stone in a statement.
Located in the Short Stories Hotel in West Hollywood, the pop-up is open daily from 5 to 10 p.m. and serves brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.
The Netflix Bites website says to “come back soon” for a menu. Reservations are open on Resy.com. Non-refundable deposits of US $25 per person are required, which will be used towards guests’ final bill.
Diners looking to meet their culinary heroes are out of luck.
“As delicious as that is, Netflix Bites is purely an opportunity to taste these chefs’ unique dishes!” says the restaurant’s website. “Chefs won’t be on site to meet and greet.”
