Netflix under pressure with Christmas Day NFL slate after Tyson-Paul streaming debacle

The NFL is giving fans an early Christmas present this year with two exciting matchups between AFC contenders with playoff implications. The Kansas City Chiefs will take on the Pittsburgh Steelers at 1 p.m. ET, followed by the Baltimore Ravens facing off against the Houston Texans at 4:30 p.m. ET. Both games will be streamed exclusively on Netflix, giving fans a unique viewing experience.
After some streaming issues during the Jake Paul-Mike Tyson fight in November, Netflix is under pressure to ensure a smooth viewing experience for fans. One subscriber even filed a lawsuit against Netflix for “breach of contract” due to constant glitches during the fight. However, Netflix has learned from past mistakes and is working to provide a seamless streaming experience for the upcoming NFL games.
This will be the first time an NFL game is exclusively streamed on Netflix, but it won’t be the last. The NFL and Netflix have a three-year deal to broadcast at least one Christmas Day game over the course of the agreement. Brandon Riegg, Netflix’s vice president of nonfiction series and sports, assured fans that improvements have been made to prevent technical issues.
The Chiefs (14-1) have already secured their ninth consecutive AFC West title and are vying for the No. 1 seed in the AFC. A win against the Steelers would lock up the top seed for the Chiefs, allowing head coach Andy Reid to rest his starters in the final week of the regular season. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes played through an ankle sprain in their recent win against the Texans, showcasing his resilience and talent.
On the other hand, the Steelers (10-5) suffered a tough loss against the Ravens and are looking to bounce back against the Chiefs. Wide receiver George Pickens may return for the game, providing a much-needed boost to the Steelers’ offense. The Ravens (10-5) are also in the hunt for the AFC North crown and will face the Texans in their Christmas matchup.
The Texans (9-6) are coming off a loss to the Chiefs and will be without wide receiver Tank Dell for the rest of the season due to a devastating leg injury. A win against the Ravens would secure a playoff spot and the AFC South title for the Texans. The game will also feature a special halftime performance by Beyoncé, adding to the excitement of the matchup.
With playoff implications on the line and a halftime performance by Beyoncé, NFL fans are in for a treat this Christmas. Netflix will be under scrutiny to ensure a smooth streaming experience for viewers. Stay tuned for these exciting matchups and follow Fox News Digital for more sports coverage.
