New bill threatens to cripple ‘judicial tyranny’ from derailing Trump’s agenda

Republican Congressman Darrell Issa has recently introduced a groundbreaking bill aimed at curbing the power of federal judges to issue nationwide injunctions that are solely intended to thwart a president’s political agenda. The bill, known as the No Rogue Rulings Act (NORRA), seeks to amend Chapter 85 of Title 28, United States Code by adding a “Limitation on authority to provide injunctive relief.”

The legislation specifically states that no United States district court shall issue any order providing for injunctive relief unless it is applicable only to limit the actions of a party involved in the case. This means that injunctions should only apply to the parties directly seeking relief from the court, rather than extending to the broader political agenda of the president.

Since President Donald Trump took office, there has been a surge in lawsuits filed against his administration, with more than 50 legal challenges brought forth by various activist groups, elected officials, and individuals. These lawsuits have targeted Trump’s executive orders, proclamations, and memos, leading to a contentious legal battle between the administration and the judiciary.

Rep. Issa argues that the current trend of nationwide injunctions is a form of “judicial tyranny” and a weaponization of the courts against the executive branch. He believes that the founders never intended for judges to have such absolute power over the president and the American people, and the NORRA bill aims to restore the balance of power among the three branches of government.

Issa’s office is optimistic about the bill’s prospects in Congress, noting that it has gained significant momentum and support among Republican lawmakers. The congressman hopes that President Trump will sign the bill into law, signaling a victory for those who believe in limiting judicial overreach.

The Trump administration has been vocal in its criticism of the numerous injunctions issued by federal judges, accusing them of acting as judicial activists rather than impartial arbiters of the law. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt recently denounced the injunctions as part of a larger effort by Democrat activists to undermine the president’s authority.

As the debate over nationwide injunctions continues to unfold, Rep. Issa’s NORRA bill stands as a potential solution to the perceived abuse of judicial power. By restricting the scope of injunctions and ensuring that they only apply to parties directly involved in a case, the bill seeks to uphold the principles of separation of powers and prevent the courts from overstepping their constitutional authority.
