New Jersey military base experiences drone incursions

The Fox Flight Team recently joined forces with a New Jersey drone unit in the search for Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs) in the Northeast region. This collaboration comes after a classified briefing for lawmakers revealed that there is nothing “nefarious” happening in the skies over New Jersey.
However, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, located in New Jersey, has reported multiple drone incursions this year by contraband smugglers attempting to sneak illegal items into a federal prison on the military installation. The base, which houses FCI Fort Dix prison, has strict flight restrictions in place to prevent unauthorized drone operations.
According to a spokesperson for the base, there have been several drone detections this year, with the most recent interception occurring on September 15, 2024. These drones were used to smuggle contraband such as cellphones, drugs, tobacco, and other items into the prison. The base takes each incident seriously and works closely with local law enforcement to ensure the safety and security of the installation.
The sprawling base, spanning 42,000 acres and home to the 87th Air Base Wing, has been the target of drone smuggling operations in the past. The prison on the base has been a prime location for contraband smuggling using drones.
Recent drone sightings in New Jersey have puzzled residents and officials alike. The Biden administration has stated that the drones do not pose a public safety threat and do not appear to be linked to foreign interference. The Pentagon has suggested that the drones are likely being operated by hobbyists for recreational purposes.
Pentagon press secretary, Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder, mentioned that while some drones could potentially be used for malicious activities, the sheer volume of drone flights on a daily basis makes it challenging to determine the intent behind each drone. The Pentagon takes all drone activities near military installations seriously and investigates each incident thoroughly.
As the mystery surrounding the drone sightings in New Jersey continues, it is essential for authorities to remain vigilant and proactive in addressing any potential security threats posed by unauthorized drone operations. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story.
