New Orleans attack: Inside the Bourbon Street terrorist’s Houston home

Fox News Digital recently released new photos providing a glimpse inside the home of Bourbon Street killer Shamsud-Din Jabbar in Houston. The photos revealed an inside look at Jabbar’s mobile home in a predominantly Muslim neighborhood in north Houston. Among the items found in his home were multiple copies of the Quran, a book on Christianity, and a book about teaching children about Islam.

Jabbar, a 42-year-old former U.S. Army veteran who served one tour in Afghanistan, carried out a terrorist attack on New Year’s Day in New Orleans. He drove a white truck into a crowd of revelers before opening fire on law enforcement officers, resulting in the death of 15 people, including Jabbar, and injuring over 30 others. The attack is being investigated as a terrorist incident, with Jabbar reportedly being inspired by ISIS.

Following the attack, the FBI and a Houston SWAT team raided Jabbar’s home, leaving the front door off its hinges and revealing the living room, kitchen, and a glimpse of a bedroom. The living room was found in disarray, with a black suitcase on the floor and a dart board and fake fireplace visible on the wall. Books on Islam and Christianity were found on a bookshelf near the front door, reflecting Jabbar’s religious devotion.

Jabbar’s neighbors described him as a quiet and respectful individual dedicated to his Islamic faith. His home also contained a computer set up on an elevated desk, a can of pepper spray, and a green military-style backpack near the kitchen. The neighborhood where Jabbar lived in Houston was described as rundown, with dilapidated houses and trash scattered throughout the area.

One neighbor recalled seeing Jabbar loading a white pickup truck outside his home the morning before the New Orleans attack. Jabbar had mentioned to the neighbor that he had secured a job in Louisiana and was moving for work. The neighbor was shocked to learn of Jabbar’s involvement in the Bourbon Street massacre, expressing disbelief and stating, “There’s no way, it can’t be like that.”

The photos and details from inside Jabbar’s home provide a chilling insight into the life of a man who carried out a horrific act of violence. The investigation into the New Orleans terrorist attack continues as authorities work to uncover the motives behind Jabbar’s actions.
