NFL News: Super Bowl winner makes plea amid mother’s search for kidney

Mekhi Becton, a former member of the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl LIX-winning team, recently shared some heartbreaking news with his fans. The Los Angeles Chargers offensive lineman took to social media to reveal that his mother, Semone, is facing a serious health issue and is in need of a kidney.
In a heartfelt plea for support, Becton wrote on X, “PSA: My Mom needs a kidney!!!! If anyone can help, please please please let me know!!!!” He did not disclose the specific details of his mother’s health issue but mentioned that her blood type is B+.
Following his plea, several fans with matching blood types reached out to offer their help. Becton expressed his gratitude for the support and mentioned that he is awaiting updates from his mother and doctors.
Becton, who was drafted by the New York Jets in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, recently signed a two-year deal with the Chargers. Despite his success on the field, his mother has always been his biggest supporter. Semone spoke to the New York Post after her son joined the Jets, reminiscing about his early days playing flag football at the age of 4.
“Although it was only flag football, I remember him going out and being scared that he was going to get hit,” Semone shared. “But I’ve always been excited to see him play.”
As Becton navigates this challenging time with his family, he continues to receive an outpouring of support from his fans and the football community. His mother’s health remains a top priority, and Becton is dedicated to keeping everyone updated on her progress.
