NFL News: Top draft prospect Abdul Carter opens up about favorite player

Abdul Carter, a former Penn State standout, is on the verge of hearing his name called by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell at the upcoming NFL Draft in Green Bay. With projections placing him in the top 5 picks, Carter is considered one of the top prospects in this year’s draft class.

In a recent interview with SiriusXM NFL Radio, Carter shared his admiration for NFL players, mentioning fellow Penn State alum Micah Parsons and Von Miller as his favorites. Drawing similarities to Parsons in terms of playing style and jersey number, Carter expressed his fondness for Miller’s performance in critical moments, making him his favorite player.

Von Miller, an eight-time Pro Bowler, was recently released by the Buffalo Bills in a salary cap-saving move. Despite his release, Miller’s impressive career includes 129 sacks, ranking him 16th on the NFL’s all-time list.

Carter, who recorded 23 sacks during his tenure with the Nittany Lions and earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2024, has been battling through injuries, including a shoulder issue and a stress reaction in his foot. However, surgery to address the foot problem is unlikely, as reported by ESPN.

The NFL Draft is set to kick off on April 24, where Carter’s future in the league will be determined. Stay tuned for more updates on Carter’s journey to the NFL.
