No injuries after shots fired in Dartmouth early Boxing Day

Halifax Regional Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in Dartmouth early Boxing Day morning in Dartmouth.

Const. John MacLeod said a resident of Mount Edward Road heard noises at about 2 a.m., but over the lunch-hour found shell casings in the area and called police at 12:45 p.m.

MacLeod said there were no reports or evidence of anyone being wounded, and there was no indication of damage to homes or vehicles in the area.

The incident came a day after a shooting in North Preston. Just after 1 a.m. on Christmas morning, RCMP responded to a report of shots fired on Cain Street. Officers there found a car and home that had been struck, but no one was injured.

Police are continuing to investigate and are asking anyone with information on either shooting to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
